Methodology

Current data or no public offer.

PriceFlock lists a product only when an official retailer API or approved product feed supplies enough information to identify the exact product, variant, merchant, destination, and offer. Retailer pages are not scraped to fill missing records.

Provider authorization

API credentials alone never activate a source. PriceFlock also requires documented permission for the comparison use case and, for affiliate networks, approval for each retailer program or product feed. Sources remain disabled until both checks pass.

Freshness standard

The production catalog is designed for six refresh cycles every day: one cycle every four hours. A visible offer must carry a valid source timestamp no more than five hours old. Missing timestamps, future timestamps, and older records are rejected automatically. This is a PriceFlock quality rule, not a retailer or advertising-network guarantee.

Product images

A public product card may use only a current image delivered by the same authorized catalog source. User-submitted catalog photography and undated legacy images are not accepted. If a verified image is unavailable, the product is not published.

Exact product matching

Offers are matched by UPC, EAN, or GTIN first, then by manufacturer part number, brand, model, size, shade, color, condition, and pack count. Ambiguous matches do not share a comparison page.

Known delivered price

Ranking uses the known delivered total only when item price and shipping are available from the approved source. Taxes, membership pricing, subscriptions, location restrictions, and other transaction-specific charges must be confirmed on the retailer website.

Availability and corrections

PriceFlock can hide an offer when it becomes stale, incomplete, disputed, unauthorized, or technically unreliable. Retailer and network partners can request destination corrections or removal through their program relationship.

Commercial independence

PriceFlock may earn a commission from qualifying retailer links after agreements are active. Compensation does not change source authorization, product matching, freshness validation, or known delivered-price rules.
